This book has a lot of potential. It tells the story of two lovers who are separated by World War II, each struggling to survive in their own way. The beginning of this book offers a look into their intimate relationship and their true passion for one another. Then, the narrative jumps ahead a few years and each character is own his/her own journey. This seems like an interesting book that incorporates both historical fiction and romance and I'm curious to see how the rest of it plays out.
I wish the first chapter had been a little longer so we got to witness more of the relationship dynamic between the characters, but I assume that there will be plenty of memories and flashback sequences that will give us more insight into their relationship. I hope I get to read the rest of this book!
