Realizing that this book if from a series does not deter my interest. In fact, it only makes me want to go back and start from the beginning. It appears to a well written saga, fraught with anguish due to the nature and time period of the information therein. Saffron and Gehards's love story is set in the midst of a horrific historical event, during a time when Hitler reigned with terror and death.
