I could probably read and enjoy this book without all the romance. I really enjoy historical fiction but I'm not a fan of romance. While the romance is a bit toned down, I still find it boring and unnecessary. BUT! I'd be willing to give it a try. If the story is good enough, I could overlook the romance.
