This was a fairly short excerpt and it cuts off mid-sentence so I didn’t feel like there was the best sense of what the novel is beyond the romance, but I did like learning how Gerhard and Saffron met, it made it seem like she has a fairly bold personality that I might enjoy reading about further. The cover works as far as indicating the time period.
