This book tells the story of Gerhard and Saffron during World War 2, and they are staying in Paris-the city of lovers at the Ritz. They love each other but are about to be seperated. Saffron has been recruited to go to Belgium, as a spy, and Gerhard is fighting for Germany as its his homeland, but he has hopes of changing things.
They both leave knowing they may never see each other again, but they both know this and hope to be reunited when the war is over.
