Usually when people write books about the ways in which God has touched their lives, it follows after catastrophic events like divorce, miscarriage, death, or other major traumas. This story is about a beauty queen losing a pageant. I realize that this felt devastating to Debbye Turner, but it felt inauthentic as the basis for offering spiritual advice. Overall, some might find this story inspirational but I found it a little self-centered.
