Despite the fact that I'm not at all religious or familiar with pageant life, this book was still very interesting and well written so far! Bell has an extremely clear and distinctive voice within the text that kept my attention well, while still being casual and familiar, and it was really interesting to learn more about the pageant process and the skills involved. Bell's drive to win is also clear through the text, making it more engaging. Again, this is not a book that I would pick up and read on my own usually (I prefer fiction really), but I do think it would be a great read for anyone who is a Christian and who is going through a hard time, as I think the discussions of failure and growth are very inspiring.
