Interesting insights into Debbye's faith and also the circuit of pageant competitions. Honestly, that's what most hooked me in these opening paragraphs, the storytelling around the pageants. I know nothing of them, outside of Hollywood film recreations, and even simple things were interesting (people re-enter the same pageants, for example).
