The first page, introducing the characters, doesn't adequately set forth the personal tension and drama that the rest of the chapter brings to the reader. I was impressed at how much information could be established in 9 pages...and then extremely frustrated to not be able to turn the page and read more. Tension, emotion, drama, relationships yet to be unraveled (personal and family) and I can't wait to read more. I also love a good heroine in a traditionally-male role
