This first look was short, but I felt like it was a good setup of what to expect for the rest of the book without giving too much away. Already, I can tell that Anne is a strong woman (she almost has to be to be in a profession that's still considered dominated by men). The tease of things between her and Danny was interesting and at first their initial interaction gave a playful vibe to the story. How you would expect a series about a group of people who put their lives on the line for their job and form a familial bond in the process. A lot of camaraderie and jokes. But I was surprised how quickly the story turned serious and by the end of the snippet I knew I was ready to see how the rest of the story plays out.
