The opening lines of Consumed gripped my attention and intrigued me instantly. I love how she introduces the crew as a type of family of sorts. It really portrays their connection with each other and the job. The opening also starts with a bang and I think it fits perfectly with the topic at hand, firefighting. JR Ward is such a unique writer who is able to reach vast audiences with her explosive plots and well thought out characters. This book looks like it's starting off on the right foot!!
