With the numerous mentions of nicknames on the initial pages, I found myself quickly losing interest. I want to be pulled in quickly, at least by the first few pages—by the action, or characters, or emotions. Sadly, I wasn’t even nudged.
Once the action started, the storyline still didn’t grab me, the characters were still unlikable, and I had little desire to finish reading chapter one.
The high point for me was before I began reading—the cover. The cover art is intriguing.
