Having recently read a book about Elektra (Clytemnestra’s daughter), I found this especially fascinating to see things from another POV. The story of Clytemnestra, like many of the Greek Mythology stories, was not a particularly happy one. This version in particular taught me things about her first husband I wasn’t aware of, and I found the portrayal of her time in Sparta fascinating too. But my favorite parts of the story took place after she married Agamemnon and was Queen of Mycenae, especially during The Trojan War as she was left to rule in her husband’s absence. I thought the pacing in this was well done, and even though it is on the longer side ~450 pages I flew through it.

I highly recommend this to Greek mythology fans! It’s a well written and fascinating dark story about revenge, female empowerment, family and of course my personal fav - it’s full of murdery vibes.
