I love all things Greek mythology so I was excited to see this on Bookish firsts. I am disappointed by the writing though. The main character feels like a debut novel. Reminds me of a YA book writing style before YA books had real editors. The cover is really pretty. It has beautiful colors and the artwork is whimsical. I liked the idea of the story enough to read beyond this clip to see what happens. I often think debut novels have poorly written dialogue and character development so it is not a shock that that is how the characters were created in this story. The story and character are unknown to me though so I’m interested in finishing it just because I want to know more about this character and how her story unfolds with this author. I will admit that the cover has something to do with it but it is mainly the undiscovered Greek mythology retelling.
