I haven't really read a lot of Greek Mythology so I was not really aware of the character of Clytemnestra before so this was my first exposure to her story. This felt very similar to other retellings of similar stories. It was interesting and paced well. These always seem a bit dry to me but I was able to get into the story very quickly and I was excited to see it unfold. I really liked the story and the characters were interesting. Clytemnestra and her whole family were actually pretty interesting to read about and many of the characters names will be familiar to readers even if you may not know their whole stories. Clytemnestra was a very interesting character to read about. She was strong and smart and also very calculating. It is easy to see why she was a misunderstood character but this novel did a good job of helping you to understand her and her action which were not that unreasonable given what she had been through.
