I absolutely love retellings, and this was a great deep dive into the life of Clytemnestra, the wife of Agamemnon. This book went from her beginnings, as a young girl in Sparta, to how she became one of the most powerful women in the Greek world.

The writing of this book was seamless, and really brought you to the day that Clytemnestra lived. She had some horrible things happen to her, mostly at the hands of the men in her life, including her father and husband. She was scarred and imperfect, but she needed to be that way to keep hold of her kingdom.

Although her sister, Helen of Troy, is far more known by the general public, Clytemnestra is a far more interesting historical figure, and I am so glad that I was able to get a copy of this book! Doing the deep dive into her life really allowed me to learn not just about her, but about others in her life that we often hear about (Helen of Troy, Electra, etc.)

Great writing and flow of the book, as well! Highly recommend!!!
