I really liked the synopsis of the book, a story of women’s empowerment in the time of ancient Greece. However, reading the first look, I felt thrown off. I think it was the writing style- it just made me feel very much like an outsider looking in, not at all like I was immersed in the story. There were some interesting descriptions and figurative language, so if you like the sound of the synopsis I say give it a try, it’s just that the writing style wasn’t for me this time.
