Good Writing, but I Probably Won't Read It...

The writing in the excerpt was well done and almost lyrical. I think the target audience for this novel will absolutely love it! Personally, I'm a little hesitant for a few reasons. First, I was not a fan of Circe, and since this book is compared to Circe, I'm not sure it's a good fit for me. Second, I thought the plot was a little choppy, jumping around a lot. This is a personal preference more than anything else, but I would prefer the author write about events over a shorter period of time, so that the story feels more cohesive. Finally, there was a brief mention of rape, and while it's not explicit, and I understand it plays an essential role in Greek mythology, I typically don't read novels that involve rape. Overall, though, I think people who enjoy Greek mythology will adore this book!
