While it's not exactly a sequel to The Tattooist of Auschwitz, Cilka's Journey does follow one of the characters that was a minor character in The Tattooist. Those who shy away from World War 2 fiction should stay away from this one as well. While both books are "based on a true story," it's not clear how much is actually true and how much is fabricated. Once you can get past that, this is a journey that takes you into the heart of the concentration camps and beyond. It's a story of survival, of heartache and what it means to be free. It's a story of sacrifice and desire that is so well-written you'll want to keep turning the pages. I haven't finished the book yet but I can't wait to. I loved Tattooist and am enjoying this one as well.
