If you read the Tattooist of Auschwitz you will remember Lale & Gita and their story of love and survival. This book is about Clika's life and her survival in Auschwitz as well as her release, only to be send back to another camp because she was seen as an accomplice to the Germans. Her continued survival at Karkov prison and her guilt of what she has witnessed and forced to accept is heartbreaking as she is stripped of every belonging. It is a beautiful story of learning her journey and her friendships as well as forgiveness and allowing herself to accept love again. Highly recommend this book as it pulls together The Tattooist characters together and forms the friendship of women and how they judge, support, as well as sacrifice for one another giving each other hope.
