I cannot say enough good things about this book. Upon hearing about it's release, I quickly reread "The Tattooist of Auschwitz", Heather Morris's first novel in which Cilka Klein is introduced.

"Cilka's Journey" is the story of what happened to the real Cilka Klein after being liberated from the Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp and then sent to a Siberian prison camp to serve 15 years of hard labor. At the end of the book, the author explains that the details of her time in the camp are not fully known. This story may have been similar to what her life was like, so this book is mainly a fictional story about a real person.

This book is both heart-breaking and hopefully. It tells the tale of a strong survivor who went through years of horror doing what she had to to survive, but never losing her humanity and willingness to help others.

Thank you Heather Morris for giving Cilka a voice and sharing her story with the world.
