So excited to continue the story!
I read the author's previous book, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, and loved it, so I was thrilled to see the story is continuing. Cilka has survived WW2 and the concentration camp that she was held in by the Nazis. However, for some reason the Soviets seem to have something in mind for her. And she is being accused of prostitution despite the fact that it was rape! I am very curious about what this will mean for her future.
The Soviet idea of justice is infuriating. Cilka needs support and love and compassion, but it looks as though the women around her are prepared to turn their backs on her because of the prostitution label. This poor woman! She deserves a break. I am hopeful that the author will take us on a redemptive journey.
