I fell in love from the minute I started reading it. It's a sad book, but it is written so well. I love that the characters that readers may know from reading the Tattooist of Auschwitz are in the book as well. I love to read about the holocaust and things related to it and this book did not disappoint. Heather has a wonderful way of telling a story so that you really understand everything about it and can get fully engrossed in it. It made my heart hurt reading Cilka's story, but it felt like something that needed to be told. I had tears running down my cheeks at one point. Just imagining someone having to go through the things that she went though is so incredibly sad. She does what she needs to so that she can survive. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that likes Historical Fiction or just likes to read a good story. Must read! Would be good for a book club :)
