I thought this book was very well written. Although it is a work of fiction, I can only imagine the horrors described in this book isn’t the worst that happened to women during this time period. Cilka allowed herself to be belittled day in and day out just to see tomorrow. Throughout the traumatizing experiences she went through at a young age, she was still able to be a great friend to those she lived with. She begins to realize the better jobs she has the more freedom she can obtain. She becomes a nurse there where she is able to sneak more food or first aid supplies back to the living quarters. This book is much different than The Tattooist of Auschwitz since it is written from a womens point of view. This book was a page turner and I enjoyed every page. Although there were some very graphic scenes throughout the book, I would absolutely recommend
