I loved the first book the Tattooist of Auschwitz - I devoured that book in one day. The storytelling, pacing, and characters flowed together like honey. This book is a spin off of the last book. The characters are mostly the same however we meet some new ones as well. However the writing is very choppy. The editing is terrible with major grammatical mistakes over looked “Cilka is crouches in corner”, etc.
The choppy writing feels like the author wrote a paragraph a day and then copy and pasted them together. It is a jumble of little side stories pieces together haphazardly.
There are a few flashbacks to the first time she went to camp and this time- but no indicator as to when the flash back is happening. The reader just has to figure it out. The characters face problems- like the little girl on the train- but the author does give any remedy or show that the characters are quick or able to solve the problems.
