I was instantly drawn to this book when reading the synopsis of this book. I’ve always been interested in WWII. I have read several historical fiction novels that I loved as well as some that were non-fiction. After reading the the first few chapters I cannot wait to read this book. It seems like it’s something I would like and feels like a hauntingly interesting book. I feel like it is going to make me question many things. Like what would I do Cilka’s place? Was she wrong? Did she deserve to be punished or was she just finding a way to survive the concentration camps and by “sentencing her to hard labor in Siberia” how the ode of a labor camp any different than the concentration camps where she was previously? So many questions! I cannot wait to read this one!!
