Just finished Cilka’s Journey by @heatherrelizabethh and holy wow 🤯 synopsis: It is a story of a beautiful, brave, skilled young woman who survived three years in Birkenau and ten years in a Soviet labor camp. It is not revealing too much to say that Cilka managed to survive the concentration camp by surviving nightly visits for SS officers. She is later sentenced to a labor prison for “sleeping with the enemy” but learns how to help others by becoming a nurse and falling in love. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ such a powerful read and totally different from my typical thriller reads but it really was incredible. An amazing true story from an amazing survivor! This is one of my first historical fictions and it certainly will not be my last! I’m looking forward to reading the tattooist of Auschwitz. Be sure to have a box of tissues ready for when you read this book!
