I was so grateful to have received an advanced copy of “Cilka’s Journey.” Heather Morrison’s “The Tattooist of Auschwitz” was so much more than just a story; it resonated deep within me, leaving me to consider my great fortunes, reevaluate my misfortunes, and how I perceive others.

“Cilka’s Journey” gave readers a better understanding of who Cilka was, what she faced, and how she survived. Like many other prisoners, she remained brave and optimistic despite incredibly horrific circumstances. Cilka didn’t just survive, she saved others.

This was a brilliant follow up to “The Tattooist of Auschwitz,” and I feel like it filled many holes in the story that I hadn’t known existed. Still, this book would be a solid stand alone book on its own. Morrison has a way of really making us feel the characters.
