This intriguing novel tells the tale about a young girl surviving the Holocaust. Although you might assume it is like any other story about the Holocaust, this one is different, unique, and inspiring. The main character, Cilka did everything she could to survive. She even attempted to save her friends by being friendly with a doctor in the camp's infirmary. The novel truly depicted how strong of a person Cilka was and how she used her ingenuity to make it out alive. It is stories like these that are impactful and tug at the heart strings. It is important to always remember what happened and never forget, and this novel does a great job of reiterating that concept. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. I sincerely hope that you all will enjoy it as much as I did, or maybe more if that is even possible! (Also the cover is beautiful!)
