This promised to be one of those stories that is heart-wrenching and sticks with you. I started reading the First Impression convinced that IW Wasn't going to want to read farther because I knew the content would be hard (Holocaust, Auschwitz), but I couldn't resist guaranteeing a copy with points because it was SO good. Cilka promised to be a complex, intriguing heroine. So far we are meeting her as a 16 and 18 year old. The choices she made while at Auschwitz impact her life after the war. The question is, did she really have a choice in her actions? What choices would we make to survive? I am really looking forward to reading her story (based on real life) and am preparing a box of tissues!
