Seems Rushed, Waiting for Some Depth
Of course everyone has heard of the Tattooist of Auschwitz, and when I saw this is by the same author, I was very excited. However, I find the first few pages of this book lacking. I'm extremely interested in the subject matter but Cilka seems to be missing a personality. The few pages come off as very rushed and I can't really get a sense of who Cilka is or how she is feeling as she is going through such traumatic moments. I find it difficult as a reader to not feel detached from her. I'm still very curious about the book and would like to see how her journey plays out but I hope the story goes a little more in depth. I feel like it's barely scratched the surface of what's happened to her so far.
