Cilka was just a child when she was sent to a concentration camp. While there she suffered horrors no one should. When she is finally liberated, she is sent to serve time because while imprisoned, she was raped by several Nazi officers, an act deemed to be punishable by those that saved her from the camps. She sentenced to 15 years of hard labor for working with the enemy and being a spy.
Connected to the previous novel, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, tells the story of one of the many freed after world war 2 and how it wasn't all good for those held by the Nazis even after the war was over. I'm ready for more!
