Reading this you know immediately, with Cilka's own words, that she is a survivor. I was immediately invested in Cilka as her hopes are raised that she will soon no longer be a prisoner in a concentration camp, and then dashed as she is charged with crimes of prostitution and being a spy. Cilka is then put on a train with many other women and is being transported to where she will serve her time. I can't wait to read the rest of this book and see how much Cilka can brave and endure in order to hopefully live a life of freedom.
