I read mostly historical fiction, and I've read a lot about WWII, and I always appreciate a different approach. This book begins after the end of the war. It's about a young woman, a prisoner in either Auschwitz or Birkenau, who survives because she is chosen to be a prostitute in the camp. Prostitution is defined as the performance of sexual activity for payment. Cilka's payment is that she is allowed to survive. I'll definitely read the book.
