An intriguing story but the narrative is lacking

I read The Tattooist of Auschwitz and, honestly, I didn’t love it. It read more like script than a novel. The first look of Cilka’s Journey seems to be written in the same style. It sounds like an intriguing story but the narrative is lacking.
