Chronicles of a Radical Hag introduces us to small town newspaper columnist Haze Evans, then just as quickly takes her away, as she is in a coma after a stroke. When the newspaper decides to rerun her columns from the last 50 years, and the readers replies to those columns, we see what effect Haze had on the people of Granite Creek, MN.

Much of the story is told from the perspective of high school student Sam, whose mother inherited the job of editor from her father. She assigns him the task of choosing which columns and responses should be reprinted. Sam, his mother, Haze's caretakers and friends get a chance to view her past columns through current perspectives. The characters are appealing - this was a pleasure to read and I highly recommend it.
