Very Charming and Not What I Expected in the Best!

Everything about book charmed me, the characters, the premise, and the small town they inhabited. Haze seemed like a character despite being unconscious for the entire book. If you are a fan of journalism and newspapers this book is for you. The progressive politics surprised me, but in the best way. The messaging was blunt, but never in a way that seemed preachy. Sam was utterly charming and written for the most part in a way that felt realistic for a 14 year old. At times he was a little mature for his age, but overall I enjoyed what he brought to the story. His mother Susan also brought something very interesting to the plot and their relationship dynamic was amazing and something I really enjoyed!
