The story of several people, including the Radical Hag herself Haze Evans, was presented in a unique and interesting format. The foundation for the book was based on previous columns written by Haze for her local paper. Through these reprintings, the lives of several people at the newspaper and their family, friends, and neighbors were brought into the picture. The end result was a very strongly character driven work, even though that character was in a coma for the book. Ms. Landvik did an impressive job of melding a timeline that winded through the 1960s to present with the modern lives of a majority of the characters. It is like getting that small town feel in a big city! An enjoyable way to spend an afternoon or two!
