I wanted to like this book. It sounded interesting, albeit out of my usual comfort zone. When I reach for a book, I like it to take me away. I usually gravitate towards fantasy or sci-fi. Just something that's very different than the world. And this is contemporary literary fiction. Not exactly what I want. And, I tried this book a few times to no avail. I just couldn't get into it, no matter how much I wanted to. That was a big shame for me since it sounds interesting, but, in the end, it wasn't my cup of tea. I'm sure there will be many people who will love this, but I'm not one of them. Thank you to the publisher and BookishFirst for giving me the opportunity to read this! I just wish I had liked it more.
