Come and spend some time in a small town in Minnesota with neighbors and friends anchored by Haze Evans and her column. The people have real problems and Haze helps navigate those problems although we never get a chance to talk to her in person!
I loved the use of the articles and letters to help weave the story together - although I am not usually a fan of back and forth story telling. Small town newspapers and letter writing have declined but this book reminded me of how much they connected us in ways differently than today's modern technology.
Having been a huge fan of Paul Wellstone- I loved that the author tells us about him but most importantly that she really anchors the book in the quote, "We all do better, when we all do better."
