Sweet and Endearing Characters
One thing is clear to me after reading a little peek of this book: these characters are hopelessly charming and endlessly sweet. It is a rare thing for an elderly woman to be given such a well developed character and central place in a book, and I already have so much respect and appreciation for Haze the columnist!
The format of the book thus far is creative (interlacing columns with letters and third-person narration), but a little confusing. I imagine that if one were to read more, the format would make more sense as the story was laid out. I, just like Haze, am curious to know more and to learn about Granite Creek!
