I feel like I know this story...in real life

I love supporting authors from my home state, but sadly, the story just doesn’t appeal to me (possibly, because it is all too familiar sounding!) In fact, I sort of wonder if Hazel was inspired by a real-life, elderly person who graduated from “UND” and has written a column for a North Dakota newspaper for many years. (FYI: this person went viral for writing a review about the local Olive Garden in 2012.) I met the author many years ago when “The View From Mount Joy” came out, and she was an extremely nice person. I hope her new book is a success, but I’m going to pass on it.
