Loved it! I was intrigued the entire time. I love that we don’t get bombed with all of the information about the main character right away, and instead we need to read on to learn more. I love the connections all of the characters have to each other as well. The tension between the two chess players is incredible too. I love that it isn’t a “love at first sight” kind of trope, but it also isn’t a “rivals to lovers” kind of deal. Can’t wait to see what Mal will do with the offer she was given, and certainly can’t wait to see what happens when she runs into her opponent again! It can be a little confusing at times when random information is thrown around, but it’s very easy to get back on track. Each character has their own story and personality which is hard to find in other books for sure. I love the dedication put into it and I’ve only read the first few chapters. This is definitely a must read!!
