This story was such a fun, sweet read!
I'll be honest that I was hesitant to read it, just because rom-coms aren't typically the kind of story I gravitate towards. But I absolutely loved the show Queen's Gambit, so with that as a comp, I decided I had to give this story a try.
And I'm so glad I did! This story was a cute, comfort read that I didn't know I needed!
Although I gave this book a shot because of the Queen's Gambit comparison, I appreciated that it wasn't just chess, chess, and more chess all the time. I thought the balance between chess and the rest of the story was done really well.
It was really great to see the romance unfold the way that it did.
The ending felt a bit rushed for my personal tastes, but other than that, I think this story was really well done! I think it would've been cool had it been told from dual POV, but I still enjoyed the one POV we got.
