"Every little thing she writes is magic." I adore everything Ali has ever written, so I wasn't surprised that this book was hilarious and heart-warming in equal measure. This was Ali's first entry into YA fiction, so there was some hesitancy on my part as a reader. I should have known better. Ali managed to create a story with compelling characters, a cute storyline, and a surprising twist that breaks our hearts before putting them back together.
Having read the story twice back to back, I can honestly say this is suitable for both younger and more mature audiences. Mal and Nolan were both compelling characters. Mal is probably one of my favorite characters I have read of Ali's. I'm secretly hoping there will be a sequel in the same world so we can learn more about the side characters in this book. Looking forward to Ali's next release, "Bride" next year.
