Ali Hazelwood is a romcom publishing machine and I’m so excited to read her YA adventure. I love that she has strong female leads who are STEM trailblazers, and this book looks like another empowering example. The main character, Mallory, is tough, hardworking, and witty. She has a natural brilliance and love for her family that makes her easy to root for. I can’t wait to read the rest of the story with the backdrop of chess which really is having a resurgence of popularity with kids today. This one is going to be a knockout!
