This sample lost me Bill Nye erotic fanfic—and that was very early on. I know this author is super popular with her adult romance stuff, and I was hopeful I’d like this. But as YA I’m so far out of the target audience zone, and the writing is making me feel a thousand years old. The chess angle seems to be a thing now, and I’m sure genre fans will love this. It’s just not for me.
