I wasn't too sure about this one since I'm not very knowledgeable about chess. But I found it to be a pretty easy read despite not knowing the moves, openers, rules, etc. If you were able to watch The Queen's Gambit, you likely won't have trouble with Check & Mate. I'm interested in continuing reading to see what made Mallory stop playing initially, and get better introduced to Nolan.
