I flew through these first pages so fast! My husband is a huge chess nerd and he’s been begging me to learn for years. Hasn’t happened yet, but THIS might be the influence I need to finally learn 😂. It’s such a fun setup, super voicey with great YA vibes. Mallory seems like an old soul who is desperate to take care of those she loves. I’m excited to see how she’ll grow (back) into herself in the rest of the story.
