What a cute YA story of chess and possible romance! As someone who knows nothing of chess outside of The Queens Gambit, I love that there's enough explanation about what's happening between Mal and Sawyer's match that you too as the reader are on the edge of your seat.
Also the fact we got a hot chess champion? I would've so been crushing too at 18. I love we have a big character establishment of Mal and her obstacles at the moment so that this win is such a huge deal.
